9. Embrace technology to make the best out of your travel
Being connected is essential for any Entrepreneurs. My primary suggestion would be to purchase a Sim Card at the airport. Beeline has an excellent quality-price ratio with a 10 GB of LTE+ Data lasting 15 days for 10 GEL (~3,30 €).
I never had issues finding WiFi spots, most cafes have 10-20 Mbps internet, I stayed in Fabrika where the internet was as fast as 40 Mbps. They have reading rooms, suitable for studying or working and in the same building you can find the Impact Hub co-working space.
Other co-working spaces are UG Startup Factory, Terminal, Vere Loft, Generator 9.8 and Publica.
Uber rules the west, Yandex Taxi rules the east. With this application, every ride cost me between 3 and 8 GEL (~1 and 2,50 €) – having data is mandatory.
Google Maps and Translate were must-have apps during my trip. I never got lost – partly – thanks to them – and my sense of direction. Nevertheless, some places are still not listed in the apps. Georgian has not the voice feature in any app, but if you learn how to pronounce what you read, you will be able to communicate and alternatively just show the Georgian translation to your interlocutor.
