2. Buy Antiques in the Bridge Market (with someone you will say Goodbye to)
I have to mention that some travellers from other “Eurasian” countries said it was just a classic flea market you could find in their countries, like Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, etc.
That said, I am from Colombia, I had never seen that kind of objects before. In my personal experience, they were very authentic. If I had had more space in my luggage, I would have bought several items (e.g. that vintage camera that would have perfectly decorated a corner of my living room).
Back in the day, residents would sell their own belongings when they were struggling so they could earn some money. This is not the case anymore. But, you can still find different antiques, old books, jewellery, music and random paraphernalia.
I had an unusual experience here, I met someone who enjoys buying memorabilia with people she matches with. It is hard to maintain a bond with other travellers who are on the other side of the globe, but when you buy something together, that object automatically acquires an emotional value and will remind you of that person – she said.
She had remarkable vibes, I can feel them every time I wear those sunglasses we bought together, just like she is actually travelling with me. I’m happy she taught me another way of keeping valuable memories.
