6. Have a drink in the snuggest cafes

Tbilisi has incredibly charming cafes, you can read a book, have a chat with a friend or treat yourself to a morning coffee, which I did daily – I’m Colombian after all.

My inclination goes for the Gabriadze Cafe, which is established next to the marionette theatre. The decoration is surprisingly detailed and it has a lot of character. Maybe a little over-crowded by tourists sometimes.

Linville is the hidden-gem of the list, it has a lot of charisma. Located upstairs, you can find it behind the big iron door, which I was afraid to push it or knock until a local told me I should just open it. You will find three different ambiences, two British-styled tea rooms and a balcony, where you can drink a tasty cappuccino, soaking up the sun, surrounded by a vineyard and people-watching in the street below. They have a Georgian version of our “Arepas” called “Chvishtari” (Cornbread).

Art-Café Home is the trendy one on the list. It was my go-to when it came to chatting with locals, as it offers a relaxed atmosphere with delightful music but can turn into a pre-party meeting point. Recommended for Friday-Saturday.

My final recommendation is Carpe Diem, a juice bar where you can drink fresh, healthy smoothies.

If you don’t feel like picking a specific place, any cafe in the Davit Agmashenebelih avenue will do the job, it was one of the most beautiful streets in town.

Average price for a cappuccino: 6 GEL (~2 €)
