8. Immerse yourself in the underground nightlife

Adult nightlife in Tbilisi is outstanding, fuelled and sparked by electronic music (House and Techno), art, fashion and freedom of speech. It’s frequently currently called “the new Berlin” by some – but with a lot more personality in my own opinion.

During the week, most places will close at 1AM and I assume Georgians are ok with that. Most of them work the next day and some of them organise parties in their homes.

Among the best places to kickstart a night, you can find Bauhaus (Dedaena Park), Dive (Fabrika’s Courtyard) and Café-Art Home (mentioned previously). Then, I picked the “on-going” venues according to their line-ups every night.

Bassiani is the best-known club there, located in the basement of the Dinamo Arena, which Main Dancefloor is an Olympic pool and they host more secretive parties inside the Horoom. Powered by Void – my favourite sound-system – and the unique vibe of attendants.

Khidi is more inclusive for tourists; the first time I heard about it was thanks to Marla Singer. Established under the Vakhushti Bagrationi Bridge, their Funktion-One setup is astonishing. I went there for the Echowaves Festival opening night, great memories.

For more intimate nights, I would suggest Cafe Gallery, Mtkvarze and Tivi – which are on the Housy edge.

All of those places are frequented by tourists and locals in equanimity and are LGTBI-friendly.
